Insulating Material

Elektrisola offers most different insulating materials, which are wrapped around the high frequency litz wire in very different ways. Usually they serve as spacer, to improve the acceptance of the impregnating compound or to increase the mechanical stability. In most of the cases textile materials are used to achieve the required properties of the litz wire.

The following materials are offered:
- Textile: Natural Silk, Polyamid (Nylon)
- Foil: PET, PI
- Extrusion: PVC, PE, PA

For the outer diameter of a litz wire with additional insulation the thickness of the insulation material has to be added to the nominal diameter of the litz wire.

The electrical strength of litz wires depends considerably on the enamel thickness of the single wire. For further information please visit us under Enamelled Wire Types
