Lenght of lay

The term "length of lay" (pitch) means the distance required by one single wire to be turned 360° (see drawing). Standard EN 60317-11 recommends a maximum length of lay of 60 mm for served litz wires. However in practise the length of lay is used from 0,80 mm (32 twists per inch) up to 60 mm (0,4 twists per inch/5 twists per foot).
